What printer ink does the Canon Pixma MG3650 use?

The Canon Pixma MG 3650 uses the PG540 and CL541 ink cartridges. IJT Direct’s branded inks come in black 540& tri colour 541 and also the high capacity 540XL&541XL. The PG-540 & CL-541 can print up to 180 pages per cartridge, where as the high capacity PG-540XL & CL-541XL can print 600 pages from black and 400 pages from the tri colour cartridge. Our thoughts on Design

The MG3650 comes available in black and has a flatbed scanner for your scanning and copying needs. It has a 100 sheet front loading paper tray for both plain paper and photo paper. This space saving compact all in one printer comes in at only 449x304x152mm and weighs just 5.4kg.

Main Printer Advantages

The Pixma MG 3650 gives a printing resolution of up to 4800x1200 dpi meaning it’s capable of creating sharp text documents and also images. You can save more money by using the automatic duplex feature, meaning you can do doubled sided printing without having to physically turn the paper. With ease of use in mind you have many options for connecting this printer including: USB, WIFI, Google cloud print and Apple air print and WIFI direct.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The Pixma MG3650 printer can be limiting due to its paper tray only taking 100 sheets at a time. It also could be more versatile if it took more paper ranges, it can take A4, A5, B5, 10x15cm, 13x18cm, 20x25cm, Envelopes (DL, COM10), Letter, and Legal. This model also does not have fax or an automatic document feeder; this was not an option from new.

 

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

We think the Canon Pixma MG 3650 could have better running costs. As this machine uses a 2 ink system they tend to be more expensive to run, especially with the tri colour cartridge as if you run out of a colour you need to replace the whole cartridge.
