What printer cartridges does the Brother MFC-J5625 use?

The Brother MFC-J5625DW uses four individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges, comprising of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are two capacities known as LC223, LC225 and LC229.  The IJT LC223 covers all four cartridges in the standard capacity and these cartridges offer up to 550 pages per cartridge. IJT Direct also offers the high capacity cartridges known as LC229 black and LC225 colours. You can get a very advantageous 2,400 pages from the LC229 black and 1,200 pages on each of the LC225 coloured cartridges. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Our thoughts on Design

The Brother MFC J5625 was released in black and is one of the smallest A3 printers created with dimensions of 48 x 29 x 18.6 cm. The 20 sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) is on the top of the machine and lies completely flat. With a paper tray capacity of 150 sheets it’s capable of most tasks.

Main Printer Advantages

The biggest advantage of the Brother MFC J5625DW printer is its A3 printing thanks to a single sheet bypass tray at the rear of the printer. There are also slots for SD cards and USB’s tucked behind the control panel- the panel features a coloured LCD screen making it super easy to use.  This printer is super economical especially when using the XL inks and the duplex function.

Main Printer Disadvantages

When printing in A3 the Brother MFC-J5625DW can only take one sheet at a time through the rear bypass tray; if you’re looking to print multiple A3 prints this would be very time consuming.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
