The HP DeskJet 3636 uses HP 302 ink cartridges, a 2 ink system black and tri-colour. There are 2 capacities available being standard and high capacities, our IJT branded inks are in the high capacity, 302XL. The standard 302 cartridge can print up to 190 pages from the black ink and 165 from the tri-colour cartridge while the high capacities can print up to 480 pages from the black and 330 pages from the colour. Our thoughts on Design

The DeskJet 3636 comes in white and as well as a flatbed CIS scanner there is a small 2 line LCD display on the top with membrane buttons used to control the printers current and scheduled jobs. The HP DeskJet 3636 has a rear loading paper tray which can hold up to 60 sheets of plain A4 paper with an option for printing on HP Card or photo paper, the output tray can hold up to 25 sheets.

Main Printer Advantages

As well as good printing quality of resolutions up to 4800 x 1200dpi this all-in-one has a great scan function with a scan resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi. As mentioned the DeskJet 3636 supports various mobile printing apps such as the HP Smart App, HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint. Another additional advantage of the DeskJet 3636 is the ability to achieve borderless printing up to A4 size and an optional quiet mode to keep the noise to a minimum if needed.

Main Printer Disadvantages

A major down side to the DeskJet 3636 is the printing speeds which are quite slow, it can only achieve a maximum of 8.5ppm mono and 6ppm in colour, although this is not uncommon for an all-in-one budget inkjet and shouldn’t be a problem for home use. The HP DeskJet 3636 is also only capable of creating a maximum of 9 copies of any document at a time, which could be limiting even for use in the home. The main drawback to the DeskJet 3636 is that it uses a 2 ink system; a black and tri-colour cartridge, this means you have to replace the whole colour cartridge if you run out of any one of the colours, wasting ink and costing more.
