What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Premium XP-620 use?

The Epson XP-620 takes our IJT branded recycled ink cartridges. There is an image of a Polar Bear on the original Epson packaging and each set comprises of 5 inks; Black, Photo Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. These cartridges come in a standard and high capacity, our IJT branded inks are available in the high capacity known as 26XL. The standard black and photo black inks can print up to 220 pages and the colours can print up to 300 pages each whereas the high capacity blacks can print up to 500 prints and the colours up to 700 pages. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The printer experts here at IJT direct think the Premium XP-620 is a great all in one printer for home use, the XP-620 produces excellent quality prints up to resolutions of 5760 x 1440dpi and is a great option for those wanting to print photos. You can connect to the XP-620 through USB and wireless networks including mobile printing applications such as Google Cloud Print and Apple AirPrint. 

Our thoughts on Design

The Epson XP 620 comes in black with a tilting control panel featuring a 6.8cm colour touch screen and other touch-sensitive buttons. There is a memory card slot on the front of the printer which allows printing directly from SD cards, prefect for photo printing and a flatbed scanner on top. The XP620 has two front loading paper trays; one with a 100 sheet plain paper capacity and a 20 sheet capacity photo paper tray, there is also a disc tray though which you can print directly onto CD/DVD discs.

Main Printer Advantages

The 5 colour ink system creates excellent prints as does so fast with printing speeds of 32 prints per minute for mono and colour prints; photo printing is also quick producing one 10x15cm photo in just 20 seconds. The Epson Expression XP-620 is also very compact at the same time as having print, scan and copy abilities this printer weighs just 6.7kg and has dimensions of 390m x 341 x 138 mm (WxDxH).

Main Printer Disadvantages

There are a couple limitations to the XP-620, firstly there is no fax function with this all in one and there is only a paper capacity of 100 plain sheets of paper and 20 photo paper sheets with no options for additional paper trays. Also this multifunction does not have an ADF so any long multi-page scanning jobs will have to be manually loaded a single page at a time.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
