What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Home XP422 use?

The Epson XP422 uses four individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges, comprising of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are two capacities known as 18 and 18XL, the Epson original inks have a picture of a Daisy on the front of the packaging. The Epson 18 black can print up to 175 pages and the colours can do up to 180 pages. Whereas the high capacity 18XL range can print up to 470 pages from black and 450 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The Epson XP-422 is a compact all in one printer that also has a flatbed scanner on the top of the machine for your copying and scanning tasks. Coming in at just 390x300x145mm and weighing just 4.2kg you can store the printer out of the way. This printer was finished in stylish black and has a user friendly 6.4cm display screen. The Epson XP 322 can hold up to 100 sheets of copier paper or 20 sheets of photo paper through its rear paper tray.

Main Printer Advantages

The versatile Epson 422 printer can take a vast amount of paper types including: A4, A5, A6, B5, C6(envelope), DL(envelope), No.10(envelope), Legal Letter, 9x13cm, 10x15cm, 13x18cm, 13x20cm, 20x25cm,100x148mm and 16:9. Photo printing couldn’t be easier with a memory card slot on the front of the printer and it comes with Epson Easy Photo Print software. It can produce a 10x15 photo in just 38 seconds. The XP 422 has many options for connectivity including USB, WIFI, Epson Connect, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The XP 422 can be limiting with the duplex function being manual you have to turn the page to use this function. With A4 copy paper print speeds of just 9 pages per minute monochrome and 4.5 pages per minute colour printing can be time consuming. This printer had no option for a fax or automatic document feeder.
