The HP DeskJet-3630 uses the HP 302 ink cartridges. IJT Direct’s branded inks come in the high capacity version known as 302XL black & tri colour. The 302 black can print up to 190 pages and the colour is up to 165pages. Whereas the 302XL cartridges can print up to 480 pages from black and 330 pages from the colour cartridge. Our experts here at IJT Direct think the HP 3630 All-in-One would be most suited to a home user. This printer has a colour print resolution of up to 4,800x1,200 dpi making it perfect for printing photo’s as well as the general day to day print, scan and copy tasks. 

The Envy4527 was made available in stylish white with blue around the top of the flatbed scanner. This eye pleasing all in one printer’s size is: 454x579x254mm with the input tray raised and the tray extender extended. With these closed it drops to 454x310x 158mm and weighs 4.2kg. The rear loading paper tray can hold up to 60 sheets of A4 copier paper at a time.

The versatile HP4527 has many connection options including USB, WIFI Direct and WIFI (this enables you to print through HP ePrint, Apple Air Print and more).  You can use a wide variety of media types in this printer including copier paper, photo paper, labels, envelopes and card. You can save paper by using the duplex print function although this is manual not automatic.

The Envy-4527 can limit the user as its output tray can only hold up to 25sheets of plain paper; also this printer uses a 2 ink system so you have to throw away the whole tri colour cartridge even if you have just ran out of one colour. There was no option for this printer to have an ADF or fax option from new.

We think the HP Envy 4527 could have better running costs. As this machine uses a 2 ink system they tend to be more expensive to run, especially with the tri colour cartridge as if you run out of a colour you need to replace the whole cartridge.
