Our Expert review of the Apple iPad 6th Gen
How it’s currently spec’d:
Released in 2018, the refurbished Apple iPad 6th Generation still has the same size 9.7” Retina Display with 128GB storage space. A quad core processor with 2GB RAM and WiFi for a fast connection to a home or work wireless network. Out of the box this iPad has 11.3 preinstalled but it will update the Apples latest operating system, 16, so you can use Facebook, instagram, Netflix and all the usual bank apps. We also have the 6th Gen 128GB WiFi & Cellular iPad on the shelf for more wireless connectivity options.
Where we think it excels:
Sometimes it’s difficult to tell one iPad from another without a detailed inspection and to be honest Apples 6th Gen iteration is much the same. It’s when you delve a little bit deeper that it really starts to come in to its own. It still offers that same brilliant Apple build quality and reliability, you can also use the Apple Pencil with it despite it not being an iPad Pro.
What we think its drawbacks are:
Being a 128GB iPad, storage isn't a huge issue with this iPad but as with most Apple products, there isn't an option to expand the storage using a microSD card. Apple do offer you additional cloud storage, but rather unsurprisingly that comes at a price.
What we think of the design:
There isn’t much different to be said about a design that hasn’t really changed at all since the very first iPad was released in 2010! This one is looks as good as previous models but it’s slightly thinner and lighter.
Who it’s suitable for:
The 6th Gen iPad is great for those that what slightly more functionality than an iPad Air would give but don’t want to be paying the sort of prices of an iPad Pro. We also feel it would be a great educational tool for teachers and students alike.
