What printer cartridges does the Brother DCP-J152W use?

The Brother DCP-J152W has a 4 ink system that takes IJT Branded Brother LC121 and LC123 cartridges. Each set has 4 colours; Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. The standard capacity LC121 cartridges can each print up to 300 pages and the high capacity LC123 cartridges up to 600 pages each, our IJT-branded cartridges are available in the higher capacity. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page. .

The printer experts here at IJT Direct think the Brother DCP J152 W is bested suited for occasional use with a recommended monthly duty cycle of up to 300 pages a month making it suitable for most home users and some smaller businesses. The DCP J152 is extremely well connected with compatibility for mobile printing such as Brother iPrint&Scan and cloud services including Google Drive, Dropbox and Facebook.

Our thoughts on Design

The Brother DCP-J125 comes in a compact black case with dimensions of 478 x 229 x 456 mm (WxDxH) and an integrated CIS flatbed scanner. For printer management there is a control panel which features a 4.5cm Colour LCD Display and set of buttons to allow easy navigation of all pending and current jobs as well as monitor ink levels and other printer settings.

Main Printer Advantages

A nice extra feature of the Brother DCP-J152W is that the ink levels can be displayed on LCD display making sure you never run out of ink unexpectedly. The print speeds are also relatively fast for an all in one of this budget with the ability to print up to 27 mono prints per minute or 10 colour prints although this is slower when printing at the maximum capable resolution of 6000 x 1200dpi.

Main Printer Disadvantages

Despite good overall print quality colour prints are not as good as those that can be achieved from similar budget all-in-one printers. The Brother J152W printer is lacking some features that for most people would be essential in an all round printer, firstly there is no ADF so multi-page scanning jobs will require each page to be manually loaded and scanned individually, there is also no support for duplex printing so achieving double sided prints will be difficult.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

We think the Brother DCP-J152W has affordable running costs because the high-yield and individual ink cartridges. All together this makes the DCP J152W printer a lot more efficient to run than other inkjets which have 2-ink systems.
