What printer cartridges does the Brother DCP J725DW use?

The Brother DCP-J725DW takes LC1220 and LC1240 cartridges. Each set has 4 cartridges; Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow which come in both a standard and high capacity. The standard LC1220 cartridges can each print up to 300 pages whereas each high capacity LC1240 cartridge can print up to 600 pages, our IJT branded cartridges are available in the high capacity. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Despite the fast printing speeds the DCP J725DW print outputs are good quality and the auto duplex function makes printing double sided effortless.

Our thoughts on Design

The Brother DCP-J725DW comes in black with a 4.9cm colour LCD screen and touch panel through which you can manage current and queued print jobs. For paper handling there is a 100 sheet capacity input tray which supports up to A4 size across a range of media including plain, inkjet and glossy surfaces. As well as the CIS flatbed scanner there is an associated 20 sheet ADF which speeds up multi-page print jobs. 

Main Printer Advantages

As mentioned the main selling point of the Brother DCP-J725DW is the fast printing speeds it can achieve which are impressive when compared to the speeds of other multifunction inkjet printers, the DCP-J725DW can print up to 35 mono prints per minute and 27 colour. The auto duplex and ADF included in this printer are excellent additions to standard paper handling; there is also a specialty disc tray which allows printing directly onto CDs, DVDs and blu-rays. The 4 ink system will also help save you money as you’ll only need to replace the colour that has run out.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The only real niggle our in-house printer experts could pick with the Brother DCP J 725 DW is that the photo printing speeds are also quite slow and the prints are not as high quality as those produced from dedicated photo printer.
