What printer ink cartridges does the Brother MFC J4420DW use?

The Brother MFC-J4420DW A4 and A3 printer uses four individual IJT Direct branded. The 4 individual colours are black, cyan, magenta and yellow, LC223 standard and LC225 high capacity. The original Brother ink cartridges for the J4420DW comprises of high capacity XL black individual colours which can print 1,200 pages each. The standard cap can print 550 pages each. This is based on 5% coverage on an A4 page.

A multifunction printer that not only prints A4, it can also print on A3. Our thoughts on Design

The MFC J4420DW is a nice looking printer. It’s also compact so won’t take up loads of real estate. Equipped with an automatic document feeder and a flatbed photo and document scanner on the top of the printer. The ADF accepts stacks of A4 paper and sheets of A3 can be fed through the rear paper feed. The front loading paper tray can accept up to 250 sheets of A4.The colour touchscreen is not super responsive but is useable and gives you access to the printers features.

Main Printer Advantages

The Brother MFC J4420DW is capable of churning out up to 28 pages per minute and can be loaded with half a ream of paper at a time so printing large documents is fast and easy to do. It’s a great choice for occasional A3 printing as well. Paper can be made to go further as well by enabling automatic double sided (duplex) colour or mono printing.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The Brother MFC J4420 has a noisy paper feeder and no networking capabilities. The print speed is very good but it’s worth noting that the first page can take 20 seconds plus before it prints out.
