What printer cartridges does the Canon Pixma MG 5450 use?

The Canon Pixma MG5450 uses IJT Direct branded PGI550 and CLI551 ink cartridges as part of a 5 ink system comprising of 2 black cartridges, cyan, magenta and a yellow. IJT Direct PGI550XL and CLI551XL inks come in high capacity black and individual colour cartridges; the PGI550XL black cartridge prints up to 500 pages, the CLI551XL black prints up 1,125 pages and the CLI551XL cyan, magenta and yellow prints up to 665, 660 and 685 pages respectively. These numbers are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The Canon Pixma MG5450 comes in black and has a front loading paper tray that can be closed when not in use. It features a 75mm LCD display screen and soft keys making it easy to use the menu’s on the printer. The scanner is located on the top of the printer and has floating hinges making it easier to scan or copy thick or bound documents.

The Canon Pixma MG5450 uses Canons 5 ink set up for its stunning prints. This printer can print directly onto CDs and DVD’s as well as an array of paper types. It features many connection methods including usb, wi-fi, wi-fi direct and Apple AirPrint. You can also save money with this printer using the duplex function, which will print on both sides and therefore mean you use less paper.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The Canon MG 5450 could limit the user as it does not have a fax or automatic document feeder. The plain paper tray can only hold up to 125 sheets at a time which is limiting when you are looking to do bigger print jobs.
