What printer cartridges does the Canon Pixma TS3150 use?

The Canon Pixma TS3150 uses the PG545 and CL546 ink cartridges. IJT Direct’s branded inks come in black 540& tri colour 541 and also the high capacity 545XL&546XL. The PG-545 & CL-546 can print up to 180 pages per cartridge, where as the high capacity PG-545XL & CL-546XL can print 400 pages from black and 300 pages from the tri colour cartridge. These numbers are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Our thoughts on Design

The TS3150 has been finished in sleek black; it features a flatbed scanner on the top of the printer. This machine has a rear feeding paper tray and can take up to 60 sheets of plain paper. This compact home printer can be easily tucked away as it weighs just 3.9kg and its dimensions are 435x316x145mm.

Main Printer Advantages

The Pixma TS 3150 gives great quality prints with an image resolution of 4800x1200dpi. This printer has many connectivity options; you can connect with a USB printer cable, or you can print wirelessly with Pixma Cloud Link, Google Cloud Print, Apple AirPrint and many more. You can save the environment and reduce your spending by using the duplex function, although this is not auto so you would need to turn the paper. This printer can take a variety of different media sizes up to A4 and weights up to 275gsm.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The Pixma TS3150 printer could limit the user as it doesn’t have a fax or automatic document feeder. The paper tray can only hold up to 60 sheets of A4 copier paper at a time; also when copying you can only do a maximum of 20 copies at a time.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

We think the Canon Pixma TS 3150 could have better running costs. As this machine uses a 2 ink system they tend to be more expensive to run, especially with the tri colour cartridge as when one colour gets low you need to replace the whole cartridge.
