The Canon Pixma TS 6151 printer uses a 5 ink system of IJT branded black inkjet cartridge PGI580XXL and recycled colour inkjet CLI581XXL cartridges. The black XXL high yield cartridge prints 795 pages, 747 copies per magenta, and 830 pages from the cyan & yellow cartridge’s. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Using Canons advantageous 5 ink system means you only have to replace the ink that is empty rather the wasting colours you haven’t yet used.

Our thoughts on Design

The TS6151 follows a similar design to the previous Canon Pixma printer TS6100 range and this one in particular has been finished in white with a scanner bed on top and a front panel that can be angled so it’s easier to use and easier to see. It’s also compact measuring on 139 mm height and 372 mm wide so it can be tucked away easily or placed when space is at a premium.

Main Printer Advantages

The Canon TS6151 inkjet multifunction printer can create sharp eye catching images as well as crisp clear documents with its resolution of 1200x2400dpi. It’s fairly quick at printing for an inkjet printer, it can do a 10X5 borderless photo in only 37 seconds. You can save money on paper by using the duplex function to print on both sides of the page. There are many connection options on this printer allowing multiple users to connect via WIFI, USB or mobile printing apps.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The Canon TS6151 doesn’t come supplied with a USB connecting cable, although it does have a USB port for connection. This machine has no fax or ADF so could limit and slow down some users. It’s also on the heavier side than most inkjet printers with a weight of 6.2kg.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
