What printer cartridges does the Canon Pixma TS6250 use?
 
The Canon Pixma TS6250 uses Canon PGI580 and CLI581 ink cartridges. The TS-8250 has a 5 ink system comprising of pigment black, black, cyan, magenta and yellow, theses sets are available in standard, high and extra high capacities. The standard capacity blacks can print up to 200 pages each, the cyan and yellow up to 80 pages, and the magenta cartridge up to 105 pages. Our IJT Direct branded inks are available in the extra high capacity; the pigment black prints up to 600 pages, black up to 4590 pages, cyan, magenta and yellow up to 830 pages. These numbers are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The Pixma TS6250 has a dedicated photo paper tray, a high quality printing resolution at 4800 x 1200dpi and is able to perform borderless printing, perfect for photo printing jobs with added scanning and copying features.
 
Our thoughts on Design
 
The Canon Pixma TS 6250 was released in black only, it has a CIS flatbed photo and document scanner and a 7.5cm LCD colour touch-screen making for simpler document management. The TS6250 has 2 paper handling trays; a rear tray with a maximum capacity of 20 photo paper sheets or 100 plain paper sheets and a front cassette which also holds up to 100 sheets of plain paper. This printer also has a 2 way paper feeder which allows loading of both plain and photo paper at the same time.
 
Main Printer Advantages
 
There are many media types that can be printed on using the Pixma TS6250 not just plain and photo paper but also other canon media such as stickers and magnets. The TS 6250 can also take photo paper up to 300gsm; this is much thicker than a usual inkjet machine. The TS6250s’ FINE print head technology can create excellent prints from almost any device thanks to the multiple connectivity options including WIFI, USB, Apple AirPrint, the Canon Print App and many others.
 
Main Printer Disadvantages
 
Although the TS 6250 is an all in one printer it has no fax ability and there is also no Automatic Document Feeder which would slow down long multi-page documents tasks. Also this Pixma isn’t particularly fast at 15ppm for mono prints and 10ppm in colour which again isn’t great for larger documents.
 
Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
 
The Canon Pixma TS6250 can be expensive to run as it holds 5 inks; this is especially true if replacing the inks with original Canon cartridges.
