What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Home XP-3105 use?

The Epson Expression Home XP-3105 uses a 4 ink system of Epson 603 inks which comprise of Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow cartridges. The Epson retail packing has an image of a starfish on the front. These inks come in both standard and high capacity cartridges with our IJT branded inks available in the high capacity. The standard inks can print up to 150  pages from the black and 130 from each of the colours. The high capacity XL can print 500 pages from the black and up to 350 pages from each of the colour cartridges. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

It’s a wireless multifunction inkjet printer that Epson have produced for home users so it has a small footprint and basic features. It’s a 3 in 1 so offers print, scan and copy as well as Wi-Fi and USB printing.

Our thoughts on Design

The Epson XP3105 has been finished in matt black plastic. It’s by no means sleek and stylish but it isn’t an eyesore and won’t look out of place in the home. Our in-house printer experts like its small footprint and even lifting the scanner cover it’s still small enough to be hidden away when not in use. Epson have included a small colour display on the tilting panel, which does make the printer features and maintenance options easy to find and use.

Main Printer Advantages

The main advantages of the Epson Expression XP 3105 are its size and ease of use. Hide it away in a cupboard or leave it out on a desk, it won’t take up much room and is discreetly designed so it won’t draw much attention. It’s super easy to set up, use and maintain.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The XP 3105 is most definitely a superb home printer but outside of that it really wouldn’t do well. The ink cartridges have a relatively small print capacity for an office environment. Couple those factors with the lack of auto duplex printing and no ADF (automatic document feeder), the Epson XP-3105 knows where it belongs and what its strengths are.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
