What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Photo XP760 use?
 
The Epson XP 760 uses six individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges. Printer ink for the XP760 comprises of black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta cartridges. There are both standard capacity and high capacity available. Epson have branded these as 24 and 24XL. On the Epson OEM packaging you will find an elephant. The standard cap 24 black can print up to 240 pages and the colours can do up to 360 pages. The high capacity 24XL inks can print up to 500 pages from the black and 740 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The experts we have here at IJT Direct would recommend the Epson 760 for home use, especially for those keen photographers and other creative’s. Photo reproduction is quite incredible when using photo paper because the 6 colour ink system provides a quite incredible range and depth of colour.

Our thoughts on Design

The Epson XP-760, like many in the Expression series has a glossy and matt black plastic body. There is a flatbed scanner, SD/SDHC memory card slot and a huge 10.9cm touchscreen. Its super responsive and very easy to navigate menu means you can make the most of the printer. Load up to 100 A4 pages using 2 paper trays.

Main Printer Advantages
 
If you are looking to produce brilliant photos the Epson Expression Photo 760 is just exception. Packing 6 different cartridges, which is important to point out that you only need replace a single cartridge when it runs out, you’ll get details on the page you simply wouldn’t expect with a print resolution of 5,760 x 1,400 dpi.

Main Printer Disadvantages
 
The 760 won’t accept any larger printer media than A4 so it’s simply not suitable for a user wanting to printer larger images or documents. There is also 6 individual inks to replace as and when, and just when you thought 5 was more than enough, Epson go and add yet another. This of course means a higher printing cost, though that cost will be even more when buying Epson originals.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

Our IJT Direct experts believe the Epson Expression Photo XP760 printer, in the grand scheme of things, has a bearable running cost. What can’t be forgotten is that it takes 6, not 5 individual inks, but that is a trade off to get brilliant photo prints. Save  some cash and buy our XL high capacity, top quality recycled inkjet cartridges. If you were to use the Epson original inks your running costs would be significantly more.
