What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Home XP225 use?

The Epson XP 225 uses four individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges, comprising of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are two capacities known as 18 and 18XL, the Epson original inks have a picture of a Daisy on the front of the packaging. The Epson 18 black can print up to 175 pages and the colours can do up to 180 pages. Whereas the high capacity 18XL range can print up to 470 pages from black and 450 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The Epson XP-225 is a compact printer with dimensions of 390x300x145mm and it was released in black. It has a flatbed scanner and just a few buttons on the front designed with ease of use in mind. This printer has one paper tray which is located at the back of the printer

Main Printer Advantages

The Epson 225 can also produce a beautiful 10x15 photo in just 54 seconds. When doing everyday printing you can take advantage of the duplex double sided printing option to save money and the environment on paper usage. This versatile printer can take a vast amount of paper types including: A4, A5, A6, B5, C6(envelope), DL(envelope), No.10(envelope), Legal Letter, 9x13cm, 10x15cm, 13x18cm, 13x20cm, 20x25cm,100x148mm and 16:9. The XP 225 can be connected via many methods including USB, WIFI, Epson Connect, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

 

Main Printer Disadvantages

The XP 225 can be limiting its paper tray only holding 50 sheet of copier paper or just 10 photo sheets. Also with no auto duplex function to print double sided you would be required to turn the paper. The print speeds on this home printer could be better giving speeds of just 6.2 pages per minute monochrome and 3.1 pages per minute for coloured prints.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
