What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Home XP355 use?

The Epson XP 355 uses four individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges, comprising of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are two capacities known as 29 and 29XL, the Epson original inks have a picture of a Strawberry on the front of the packaging. The Epson 29 black can print up to 175 pages and the colours can do up to 180 pages. Whereas the high capacity 29XL range can print up to 470 pages from black and 450 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Our team of experts here at IJT Direct would recommend the Epson XP 355 for home use.  It uses Epson’s 4 ink system so you only have to replace the colour cartridge that is empty. With an image resolution of 5,760x1,440dpi you can create lovely pictures from this compact printer as well as your day to day printing.

Our thoughts on Design

The space saving Epson XP-355 was made available in white and its size comes in at 390x300x146mm. This model can hold 100 sheet of copier paper or 20 sheets of photo paper its rear paper tray. There is a 3.7cm colour screen on the front of the printer which you can view your pictures directly from your memory card. For scanning and copying you can use the flatbed scanner which is located on the top of the printer.

Main Printer Advantages

You can use many different sizes of media in the Epson 355 printer including A4, A5, A6, B5, C6, DL, No.10, legal letter, 9x13cm, 10x15cm, 13x18cm 13x20cm, 20x25cm, 100x148mm and 16:9. Multiple users/devices can connect this printer using USB, WIFI, Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print and Epson Connect. This printer also features Epson’s photo enhance and red eye removal built in.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The XP 355 printer could limit the user as there is no option for fax or automatic document feeder. With print speeds of only 10 pages per minute black print and 4.5 pages per minute on colour prints it can be quite time consuming if you were looking to do multiple prints; even more so if you were doing duplex as this is not automatic so you would need to turn the page.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
