What printer ink does the Epson XP-530 use?

The Epson XP 530 uses five individual IJT branded ink cartridges. Printer ink for the XP530 comprises of a black, photo black, cyan, magenta and yellow cartridge. There are two capacities of printer cartridge for the Epson XP-530, standard and high capacity Epson inks. The OEMs are branded 33 and 33XL. The original packaging has a picture of an orange. The standard cap 33 black can print up to 250 pages, 200 on the photo black and the colours can do up to 300 pages. Whereas the high capacity 33XL range can print up to 530 pages from black, 400 on the photo black and 650 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Our thoughts on Design

The Epson XP-530 combines a glossy and matt black finish. The printer features a flatbed scanner, memory card slot and convenient 3.7cm LCD panel for navigating through the printer menu. It’s a small footprint as well, which for the home, we believe, is ideal. The XP 530’s tidy paper tray can accept up to 100 sheets of A4 paper or up to 20 sheets of photo paper.

Main Printer Advantages

The Epson Premium 530 has plenty of strings to its bow. It can take 12 different types of paper from A4 to 16:9 and Legal so that covers more or less any home printing requirement. It can also print duplex so saving paper and the environment by printing on both sides. Connectivity wise, the XP530 has USB, WiFi and WiFi Direct printing. Mobile printing including iPrint, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

Main Printer Disadvantages

An automatic document feeder is always an advantage to have on a printer, which the XP 530 doesn’t have, but it would increase the overall size of the printer. As it takes 5 cartridges, this does also push up the cost of printing given you would need to buy 5 inks not 4.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

Here at IJT Direct we think the Epson Expression Premium XP530 printer has very acceptable running costs. It’s important to remember this printer takes 5 inks not 4 but you can save using our cheap XL high capacity, top quality recycled inkjet cartridges. If you were to use the original Epson inks your running costs would be significantly more. Remember buy from IJT online, the best printer ink in Britain.
