What printer cartridges does the Epson Expression Premium XP900 use?

The Epson XP 900 uses five individual IJT Direct branded ink cartridges, comprising of black, photo black, cyan, magenta and yellow. There are two capacities known as 33 and 33XL, the Epson original inks have a picture of an Orange on the front of the packaging. The Epson 33 black can print up to 175 pages and the colours can do up to 180 pages. Whereas the high capacity 33XL range can print up to 470 pages from black and 450 pages from each colour. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

It uses Epson’s 5 ink system so you only have to replace the colour cartridge that is empty. This machine can print up to A3, scan and copy up to A4 with a fantastic image resolution of 5,760x1,440dpi.

Our thoughts on Design

The great looking Epson XP-900 was released in stylish black and its size is just 479x456x148mm; which is compact for an A3 printer. This model has a multifunction paper tray with a 100 sheet copier paper capacity; it can also take up to 20 sheets of photo paper in this tray. You can also use the rear speciality media feed for A3. It also has a flatbed scanner and a very handy SD card slot on the front of the printer. There is a user friendly 6.8cm colour screen on the front of the printer allowing you to view your pictures from your memory card before printing.

Main Printer Advantages

The versatile Epson 900 printer offers print, scan and copy. You can get great high quality photos from this printer even up to A3; it also offers CD and DVD printing. This machine can take a variety of media sizes right up to A3 size. This printer can take high capacity inks giving you more prints for your money; you can also use the auto duplex function to save on paper usage. You will love the printing speeds of this printer, it can produce a 10x15 photo in just 12.5 seconds; it can also do up to 28 pages per minute for a4 monochrome prints. There are many connection options for this printer including WIFI, USB, WIFI Direct, USB host, Epson Connect, Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The XP 900 printer does not have a fax or automatic document feeder of which can be limiting for some users.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
