What printer cartridges does the Epson Stylus Photo 1500W use?

The Epson Stylus Photo 1500W uses Epson T079 cartridges which have an owl on the front of the original Epson retail packaging. A set comprises of 6 IJT branded recycled cartridges. The Black can print up to 470 pages, the cyan up to 1425 pages, the magenta up to 420 pages, the Yellow up to 975 pages, the light Cyan up to 520 pages and Light Magenta up to 930 pages. This is based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

Our thoughts on Design

The Stylus Photo 1500 W is available in black. Being an A3 printer it has a larger footprint which measures 616 x 322 x 215 mm (WxDxH) and a total weight of 11.8kg. There is 1 input tray which can hold up to 100 sheets of A4 paper or 30 sheets of photo paper but with support for media up to A3 size. Both the paper feed and output tray can be folded away to reduce the overall printer footprint when not in use. The control panel on the front of the printer consists of just 5 buttons which are used to manage print jobs.

Main Printer Advantages

The connectivity options of the Stylus Photo 1500w go beyond just wireless, with compatibility for mobile printing via the Epson iPrint App you can print from anywhere from any source with an internet connection. Thanks to the Claria 6 colour ink system the 1500W creates outstanding quality printer, particularly photos; it is capable of printing resolutions up to 5760 x 1440dpi and can produce these prints fast with a 10x15 photo print taking just 45 seconds. As well as standard printing the Stylus Photo 1500W can print directly onto CDs/DVDs which is a great additional feature.

Main Printer Disadvantages

The main drawback of the 1500W is the size, notably the width is much greater than other photo printers meaning it is not practical to share a standard desk with this printer; however this is to be expected for an A3 capable printer. One feature missing from the Stylus Photo 1500W is a touch screen for print job management; the 5 buttons on the Stylus Photo 1500W are over-simplified, even the most basic inkjets come with a touch screen display for this purpose.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?
