What printer cartridges does the Hewlett Packard DeskJet 2633 use?

The HP DeskJet 2633 uses HP 304 ink cartridges, our IJT Direct branded inks are available in the high capacity version known as 304XL. The standard 304 black ink can print up to 120 pages and the tri-colour up to 100 pages, compared to the 304XL cartridges which can both print up to 300 pages per cartridge. These numbers are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The HP DeskJet 2633 all in one printer is a good budget printer; it has both USB and wireless connection options with a recommended monthly duty cycle of up to 1000 pages, plenty for use within a home environment. The highest print resolution the Deskjet 2633 can achieve is 4800 x 1200dpi when printing on HP photo paper.

Our thoughts on Design

The HP 2633 has a white case with a striking red border around the CIS flatbed scanner on the top. It is a very compact machine with dimensions of just 425 x 548 x 249 mm (WxDxH) when the input and output trays are extended (they can be retracted to make the printer smaller when not in use) and a total weight under 3.5kg. The input tray can hold up to 60 sheets of plain paper up to 75g/m2 and the output tray up to 25 sheets; it also supports card and envelope media. 

Main Printer Advantages

For a budget multifunction printer the Desk Jet 2633 has fast draft printing speeds of 20 mono prints a minute and 16 colour prints. The small footprint is also a great feature of the Deskjet 2633 which makes it suitable for most spaces. As well as the USB and wireless connection options this printer also supports mobile printing through the Apple AirPrint application.

Main Printer Disadvantages

At the same time as being a benefit the simplicity of the HP Desk Jet 2633 is also quite a big drawback as it means it is missing quite a few features present in other all in one printers such as borderless printing capabilities and an automatic document feeder.  Another restricting feature of the 2633 is the duplex printing which can only be achieved manually, this means to produce double sided prints each page must be manually turned rather than automatically.

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

The HP 2633 can be quite expensive to run thanks to the 2 ink system it uses; the tri colour cartridge is very uneconomical as it has to be replaced when any one of the colours runs out, wasting ink and money. You can however reduce your running costs by using our IJT- branded recycled inks which are much cheaper compared to original HP inks.
