The HP Envy 5544 uses HP 62 ink cartridges; black and tri-colour. These are available in standard and high capacities, our IJT Direct branded cartridges are available in the high capacity, known as 62XL. The team of printer experts here at IJT Direct think that the HP Envy 5544 is a great multifunction printer built for home use, with print, scan and copy capabilities the envy 5544 offers all the features you could need in an All-in-One. This printer has a quick easy set up and is very affordable whilst still offering plenty of extra features such as mobile and cloud printing. 

The Envy 5544 printer comes in black and has a 2.2’ LED mono touch screen control panel for managing print jobs. The HP envy 5544 is a smart looking printer which conceals all of its multi-function features in a relatively small footprint of 454mmx410mmx161mm (WxDxH). The envy 5544 has 2 paper trays; 1 main input tray with a capacity of up to 125 sheets of plain a4 paper and a dedicated photo tray for holding 4’ x 6’ photo paper capable of holding up to 15 sheets, this means that there is no need to change the input media when switching between standard and photo printing. 

The Envy 5544 creates excellent prints capable of resolutions up to 4800 x 1200dpi, for a machine this affordable you will be impressed by the quality. Another great feature of the 5544 is automatic duplex printing which will save on paper and requires minimal effort from the user to create double sided prints. For a non-dedicated photo printer the HP 5544 can produce 6x4 photo prints quite fast at just 53 seconds per photo print.

This printer is lacking any fax feature or an ADF meaning any larger documents to be scanned will have to be loaded manually 1 sheet at a time, the HP envy 5544 also has no support for any external memory or USB devices. Although the photo printing speeds of the 5544 are good compared to other similar machines, standard text and image printing is very slow producing just 12 mono prints per minute and 8 colour prints, these speeds are slower still when duplex printing.
