What printer cartridge does the Hewlett Packard Envy 5644 e-All-in-One use?

The HP Envy 5644 uses IJT branded HP 62 and 62XL cartridges, each set comprises of a Black and Tricolour cartridge. Our IJT branded cartridges are available in the high capacity. The 62 standard black can print up to 200 pages and the tri-colour up to 165 pages compared to the high capacity cartridges of which the 302XL black can print up to 600 pages and the tri-colour up to 415 pages. The In-house printer experts at IJT Direct think the HP 5644 is a great basic multifunction printer perfect for home users and students. With USB, wireless and direct mobile printing options for connecting, 3 in one functionality and a high printing resolution up to 4800 x 1200dpi, this is a good all round printer.

The Hp Envy 5644 comes in black with a CIS flatbed scanner on top and 2.6’’ touch screen display on a tilted front panel display for managing current and queued print jobs. The input tray has a maximum capacity of 125 sheets of plain paper but can also support other media sizes and types including photo paper and envelopes. The Envy 5644 is a very compact machine with a total footprint of 450 x 364 x 224 mm (WxDxH).

In addition to the wide range of options for connecting to the Envy 5644 there is also a memory card slot which allows printing directly from the inserted memory device. The Hp Envy 5644 also has an automatic duplex features which saves paper and simplifies double page printing jobs.

The HP Envy 5644 has slow print speeds when printing at ISO standard capable of printing just 8.5 mono prints per minutes and 6 colour ppm which would make multi-page print jobs very time consuming. The paper handling of the Envy 5644 is also quite restrictive; there is only 1 paper tray in the so in order to change the printing media size or type you have to replace the whole input tray, additionally there is a very small output tray with a capacity of just 25 sheets.

Overall we don’t think the HP Envy 5644 has good running costs mainly due to the 2-ink system which uses a tri-colour cartridge; this means that the whole cartridge needs to be replaced when any one of the colours runs out.
