What printer cartridges does the Hewlett Packard Officejet Pro 8620 use?

The HP Officejet Pro 8620 uses the HP 950 and 951 inks, there are standard and high capacity versions available for each black, cyan, magenta and yellow cartridge, our IJT Direct branded inks come in the high capacity version, 950XL/951XL. The black 950XL can print up to 2300 pages and each colour cartridge can print up to 1500 pages whereas the standard 950 black can only print up to 1000 pages and each 951 colour cartridge up to 700 pages. These numbers are based on 5% coverage of an A4 page.

The HP Officejet Pro 8620 is a great all in one printer with 4 in 1 functionality; it is best suited use within a small or home office. This printer can carry out every function expected of a multifunction inkjet with its impressive list of basic and enhanced features. The Officejet Pro 8620 has exhaustive connectivity options including wired, wireless, NFC and mobile printing support via HP ePrint and Apple Airprint.

Our thoughts on Design

Like similar HP multifunction inkjets the Officejet Pro 8620 has a black case and boxy design, this model has a large 4.3’’ colour touchscreen on the right with 3 associated buttons that can be using to control the printer jobs. The paper input tray has a capacity of up to 250 sheets of plain paper; it can also hold photo paper, envelopes and card, in addition to the automatic duplexer the OfficeJet Pro 8620 has a 50 sheet capacity ADF integrated into the scanner for multipage documents

Main Printer Advantages

There are endless advantages to the HP Officejet Pro 8620 thanks to its long list of features to name a few; automatic duplex printing, automatic document feeder which supports duplex scanning and excellent print quality of resolutions up to 4800 x 1200dpi. The range of connectivity options and mobile printing support is also extensive which is a great bonus, there are also small extra features such as borderless printing for photos.

Main Printer Disadvantages

A significant drawback to the HP Officejet Pro 8620 is the paper handling, there is just 1 paper tray which can hold just 1 media size and type at a time, there is no optional extra tray or even a specialty media feed so switching media type is time consuming. Another down side to the Officejet Pro 8620 is its size, the ADF and large paper tray make it quite a large printer with overall dimensions are 499.3mmx468.9mmx314mm (WxDxH).

Running costs - Are the inks good value for money?

Overall yes we think the HP Officejet Pro 8620 does have good running costs, especially when using our high capacity great quality recycled inkjet cartridges.
