Kick some serious tasks.
With iPad, getting work done is all hustle and no hassle. Edit a document while researching something on the web and making a FaceTime call to a colleague at the same time. Attach a fullsize Smart Keyboard for comfortable typing. And for tasks that require more precision, support for a trackpad or mouse complements the familiar MultiTouch experience of iPad.
Jot till you drop.
Paired with the power of iPadOS 17, Apple Pencil (1st Gen) (not included) makes notetaking with iPad a breeze. Do things like sign paperwork, mark up a document or sketch out an idea. It feels as natural to use as a regular pencil, but with so much more capability.
Learn your lesson the fun way.
Let your curiosity run wild with iPad. The App Store is the best place to discover apps that let you get a leg up in geometry, learn a new language and attend virtual classes. You can even use augmented reality to learn something exciting, like watching the history of space flight unfold in your living room or making characters from your favourite book literally leap off the page.
Live your best extra life.
It’s go time for gaming. The A12 Bionic chip delivers an amazing performance boost, so games are immersive, fluid and incredibly detailed. And you can pair an Xbox Wireless Controller with Bluetooth, PlayStation DualShock controller or MFi game controller with your iPad to create the ultimate portable game console.2 You can also try out Apple Arcade, with over 100 adfree games in one subscription.3
Draw something drawsome.
iPad lets you express your creative ideas in so many ways. Whether you’re painting a watercolour, designing a logo or just sketching up a storm, Apple Pencil is the perfect tool to bring your vision to life. It’s designed to feel intuitive and let you draw with pixelperfect precision.
Shoot from the hip. Edit with your finger.
No matter how you capture your photos and videos, with the 8MP back camera or the FaceTime HD camera on iPad, with an iPhone or with a digital camera, you’ll love editing them on the large, immersive screen of your iPad. Take advantage of the machine learning capabilities to enhance your photos. Once you’ve got your perfect shot, share it to your social feeds or send it to friends with a tap.
Your home cinema. Home optional.
Everything you watch on iPad looks and sounds awesome, thanks to the 10.2 inch Retina display and stereo system. With the Apple TV app, you’ll have access to popular streaming services, mustwatch shows and blockbuster movies.
Take your to-do list to go.
With a thin and light design and fast WiFi, iPad is designed to go where your life goes. So you can browse the web, download books and more, wherever you are. And with up to 10 hours of battery life (from new, actual performance may be less), you can do it all on a single charge. It does pretty much everything but carry itself.
Apps for everything.
There are over a million apps on the App Store specifically designed for the large display and power of iPad. Make a beat, get a workout in, read the news or join a battle royale with friends. Whatever you’re interested in, you’ll find an app for it.
Privacy built in.
Like every Apple product, iPad was designed with your privacy and security in mind.
Designed for everyone.
Technology is most powerful when everyone can use it. That’s why iPad comes with accessibility features that support vision, hearing, mobility and cognitive needs. Like sign language prominence in FaceTime, which can detect when a participant is using sign language and make them prominent in a Group FaceTime call.
10.2-inch Retina display
With incredible detail and vivid colours, the new, larger Retina display is perfect for watching a film, working on a project and drawing your next masterpiece.

Our Expert review of the Apple iPad 8th Generation Tablet
How it’s currently spec’d:
The refurb 2020 Apple iPad, or 8th generation as it is also know by, has a larger the previous models 10.2 inch multi touch IPS Retina display capable of 2160 x 1620 264 pixels per inch display, 32GB storage, 3GB RAM and support for the latest iPadOS. As well as these additional refinements, you’ll still find Touch ID in the Home button, WiFi and Bluetooth, front and rear cameras and support for the 1st gen Apple Pencil.
Where we think it excels:
We think Apples 8th gen iPad is a proper bridge between the standard iPad and the Pro versions. It has a larger screen than the 9.7” iPads before it and with slightly more power underneath the hood. You can still use the 1st generation Apple Pencil with it so if you’re upgrading from an older model there isn’t any need to buy new peripherals and as always the iPad is super easy to use, even for the tablet novice. Even better would be to have Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. Click Here for our upgraded iPad 8th Gen.
What we think its drawbacks are:
32GB still isn’t loads and loads of storage space. It’s by far loads better than having only 16GB but once you’ve created some movies and edited some photos using your swanky Apple Pencil, that storage space will start being eaten away. The front facing or ‘FaceTime’ camera is still disappointing 1.2MP so if you want high spec cameras there are far better tablets available.
What we think of the design:
iPads don’t change all that much in appearance and this 8th Gen is much the same as the 6th and 7th generations apart from the larger 10.2” screen. This has added about 30 grams from the 6th gen and around 10 grams from the 7th gen. Touch ID still works really quickly and overall this tablet feels really nice in hand.
Who it’s suitable for:
As with more or less any iPad, the 8th Gen is brilliant for experienced or new to tablet users. We feel students would greatly benefit from the larger screen on this 8th Generation iPad especially when combined with an Apple Pencil.
