Our Expert review of the Apple 7 Smartphone
How it’s currently spec’d:
The iPhone 7, still considered a current handset today despite its late 2016 release, has a 4.7 inch Retina Display that fills the majority of the handset and provides a sharp and clear experience. This particular handset is silver/white, has 32GB of storage space, though slightly less actually available given the room taken up by the operating system. IP67 waterproof rating, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC are standard features Apple includes.
Where we think it excels:
The iPhone 7 is a few years old now but it’s still an exception handset that has a great screen, a really good camera and updated security features like Touch ID. The 4.7” screen is big enough to stream films and watch live sport as well as using your favourite social media apps and with 32GB storage, you won’t need to worry about what apps or photos and videos to delete so you can install any more apps.
What we think its drawbacks are:
It’s the basic things that we still haven’t been able to figure out why Apple removed it and never introduced it in the first place. Firstly, the 7 doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack so when using the adapter you then can’t charge the phone at the same time, it’s one or the other, which can be really irritating. Apple has never had an expandable storage option on any of their handsets, but that still doesn’t make it any less frustrating that there is no option to do so.
What we think of the design:
To be fair to Apple they have nailed the overall design. It looks great; feels great in the hand and the colour adds a premium feel to the handset. We mentioned above that the lack of a 3.5mm aux in is a drawback but the physical home button with Touch ID is a great feature, especially for those that aren’t quite ready to get rid of a physical home button.

Business or personal use, especially for those looking to upgrade older handsets.
