LENOVO THINKPAD T460S LAPTOP SPECIFICATIONS
Our Specialist view of the Lenovo ThinkPad T460s laptop
The Spec:
The Lenovo ThinkPad T460s refurbished laptop has the following spec: a ultraportable laptop that’s only 22mm thick and weights less than 1.4 kilos. The 14.1 inch screen is a Full HD anti-glare display with a 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM that can be upgraded to a maximum of 12GB. With that is a 256GB M.2 PCIe based solid state drive (SSD) that has Windows 10 Professional preinstalled. You’ll also benefit from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a webcam and a backlit keyboard, perfect for home and educational use.
The Good Bits:
Thin is thin and thin is in. The T460s has shed some millimetres off its popular predecessor, the T450s. Going from cold to ready to use takes very little time at all and even less because this Lenovo uses a M.2 PCIe SSD rather than a SATA SSD. As we’ve come to expect with Lenovo laptops the build quality is exceptional. The lid has been reinforced with carbon-fibre and magnesium body, the ThinkPad T460s can withstand some quite a bit of the rough stuff. The keyboard is also nice to use providing a good level of resistance for continued use. There is also a backlight if there isn’t too much light when you’re working. This Lenovo T460s does have a bright and vibrant screen, but what if it had touch capabilities as well? Thankfully we stock the same spec touchscreen version.
The Not So Good Bits:
Having a thinner and lighter laptop is great, but does come with a couple of sacrifices and in the case of the ThinkPad T460s, overall battery life and a lack of optical drive. It’s still very possible to extract decent battery life from the T460s but there is no option to slot in a larger capacity battery because the battery is no longer removable. The second probably isn’t an issue for the majority but optical drives are still used so this T460s will need an external drive to read/write CDs and/or DVDs.
Suitability:
There are so many things to like about the ThinkPad T460s. The thin profile and strong chassis, fast boot up time and the sharp screen. All these things make it a dependable business laptop.
