How it’s currently spec’d:

The 8” Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 features an EIGHT core processor, 32GB worth of storage and ample 3GB RAM. The really impressive bit is the Super AMOLED screen that display that means you can watch your videos and view your photos in amazing quality. Good quality front and rear cameras for photo and video capture plus WiFi & 4G connectivity.

Where we think it excels:

Is it too large to be used as a phone, probably yes? Is it too small to be used as an everyday tablet, possibly yes, but don’t let the put you off. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is still an excellent tablet that you can use to make and receive calls and text. It’s like an Amazon Kindle but LOADS better!

What we think its drawbacks are:

There really isn’t many at all. It has fingerprint security, decent storage plus an expansion slot, the impressive Super AMOLED screen and a solid front and rear camera. So what’s not to love? Well, if we are being super critical you can’t look past the 8” screen. It’s not much larger than most top spec smartphones so using it for extending periods of time might become uncomfortable BUT, and it is a BIG BUT, it is probably one of the best value tablets available today. What we think of the design:

It’s well proportioned, slim and lightweight but still has a weightiness to it that makes it feel substantial. The physical buttons are well positioned and easy to use. The 3.5mm headphone jack is a massive plus point for this device, something that Apple decided you don’t need on their newer devices. 

Who it’s suitable for:

Who isn’t it suitable for is the real question. Keep you and the kids entertained on long journeys, demo apps on it in a retail environment or even use it as a teaching aid. The only place it probably doesn’t work is it you want to use it for more than 1 person.
