Q. Why are Brother ink cartridges so expensive?

Q. Can I use other ink in my Brother printer?
A. You can’t use any ink in your Brother printer, that’s the long and short of it. Brother printers also only accept a specific range of ink cartridges so you’ll need to be sure you are using the correct cartridges.
For example, the Brother MFC-J5740DW All-in-One printer will only accept the Brother LC-422 ink cartridges .
How about recycled ink cartridges, could I use those?
Provided you buy a recycled cartridge that is designed for your Brother printer you'll be able to use it.
Q. Can I use other ink in my Brother printer?
A. It's crucial to get the correct Brother series and size of cartridges for your Brother printer. Each Brother inkjet printer requires a specific range of cartridges, which will be compatible with a number of other Brother printers but they are not cross compatible across every printer.
