The Spec:
The Dell Optiplex 790 USFF 19 inch All-in-One refurb computer is spec’d as follows: A unique mounting solution presents this Dell Ultra Small Form Factor (USFF) PC mounted on the back of a Dell 19” P1913t widescreen HD monitor. The PC itself has 4GB RAM, a 250GB mechanical hard drive, a Dual Core Intel Celeron 2.50GHz processor, DVDRW optical drive and Windows 10 Professional preinstalled. For good measure a USB keyboard and mouse is included making this ideal for beginners or as a standard work station.
The Good Bits:
The Dell 790 AiO isn’t flash or fancy but the unique mounting solution does save space. There isn’t lots of cables either as they are neatly integrated in to the mount. Some may view its simplicity as a drawback but we think quite the opposite. It’s easy to deploy and manage, especially for beginners taking their first steps in to computing or if you want to place a work station in an office or work space.
The Not So Good Bits:
The overall spec is basic so its number of uses is limited to the extent that it’s great for web browsing, word processing, even some slightly more demanding tasks but anything approaching running programs like Adobe Photoshop and it will really struggle. There is the option to upgrade the RAM and hard drive with an SSD but the older Intel Celeron processor means doing anymore than this probably won’t yield any extra performance.
The Design:
Unlike most traditional All in One PC designs, it still a well thought out and functional design. All the ports on the PC are still accessible so if you wanted to add an extra monitor for dual screening, make it wireless using a USB Wi-Fi adapter or even a wireless keyboard, all these things are possible.
Suitability:
This Dell All in One is ideal for beginners or deploying in an office or other work environment where there is a requirement for a basic work station.
