It’s a Windows based tablet with latest Windows 11 Professional 64bit operating system preloaded. Also bundled in is and a Microsoft Type keyboard and Surface Pen.
The Good Bits:
It’s possible to argue the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has a slightly confused identity? Is it a tablet or is it a laptop? We believe it can be both, especially in today's world where most laptops are made with an optical drive. The Surface Pro 4 packs an excellent screen which can still be easily read in all sorts of conditions. There is also a kick stand on the back which has different adjustable positions. Use it with or without the Type keyboard, it’s your choice. The Surface Pro 4 can also be fully utilised with the included Surface Pen and Windows 11 Pro.
The Not So Good Bits:
The Surface Pro 4 definitely works as either a laptop or a tablet but it has some draw backs. A single USB 3.0 port, mini DisplayPort and MicroSD card slot are good when considering a tablet but not so when considering a laptop. The battery life is good if unspectacular and the screen size makes it almost impossible to use with one hand as a tablet.
The Design:
A crystal clear responsive display, well place ports, a clever kickstand and a really good quality keyboard are stand out plus points for the Surface Pro 4. It certainly doesn’t feel cheap and flimsy either with its magnesium unibody casing adding style and strength. It's even better as it's already teamed up with the Surface Pen.
Suitability:
It’s as close a tablet as we have found that comes close to replacing your laptop and is ideal for students or business professionals with its beefier specifications.
