What we think of the design:

A Compact design that can be easily placed in your car or a pocket without really noticing it’s in there at all. It’s also very easy to use, either wired or wirelessly.

What’s good about it?

The Mpow BH298B has a simple purpose, to make non-wireless devices wireless. We’ve used other similar devices with that same purpose before but have always been frustrated with short battery life and then not being able to use it whilst it’s been charged. The Mpow audio receiver is a very different beast though. Battery life is superb, lasting even the longest car journey. It’s equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, which in simple terms means a longer wireless reach and a more stable connection so drop outs a far less frequent if you move the connected device away from the Mpow BH298B.

Are there any drawbacks?

What would be great would be if it turned on/off automatically when starting the car or turning the engine off. A tertiary function of the Mpow BH298B is the built in mic and speaker to take calls. This is perfectly fine when at home but in a car, unless the cabin is super quiet, the mic and speaker could be a bit stronger so you wouldn’t need to shout to be heard.

You only need to go on to eBay or Amazon to find lots of other Bluetooth audio receivers however this is always a question of quality.
