Our Expert review of the Nokia 5 Smartphone
How it’s currently spec’d:
The refurbished Nokia 5, yes you did read correctly, another Nokia smartphone, has a 5.2” HD IPS screen with Gorilla Glass for extra protection. 16GB storage plus a MicroSD card slot, 1GB RAM and front and rear cameras. Android 9 installed and a fingerprint read on the front home button.
Where we think it excels:
In-hand the Nokia 5 impresses as a mid range smart phone that has been built to be a little tougher than other Samsung or Apple handsets. As well as this the Nokia 5 manages to offer up to date features.
What we think its drawbacks are:
The 5.2 inch screen does feel on the small side now, especially when the cheap and midrange handsets are almost an inch bigger as standard. The top and bottom bezels are also on the bigger side, where again we are more used to seeing an almost uninterrupted display.
What we think of the design:
In spite of the larger top and bottom bezel it’s still a tidy design and the aluminium body gives a quality feel and more expensive look. Buttons are where you expect and for those that like the physical home button then that’s a bonus as well.
Who it’s suitable for:
Nokia have covered all bases really, which is something they used to do so well, and delivered a smartphone that is suitable for almost all users, at a pocket friendly price.
